Welcome to avid New Zealand gardeners wanting something a little different.
Searching for unusual dryland bulbs? I am delighted to be able to offer many Allium (ornamental onion) and
Eremurus (foxtail lily) varieties and other bulbs or corms that thrive in our Central
Otago climate.
It's February again and my new list of unusual offerings for 2012 is out.
I am still building up stocks of many varieties of my Alliums but this season, at
last, I have plenty of the stunning Allium "Purple Sensation" and the hard to grow,
yet delightful to have, Allium "Giganteum".
Also lots of Eremurus for that structural show but only for those who enjoy very
frosty winters - they don't flower without them!
Newly listed are Trillium chloropetalum (in three colours) that I will send without
soil, ready to plant, making them more affordable, they are a woodland plant and
shade lovers unlike the rest of my listed plants that love the hot and dry
conditions.
I still love growing my bulbs and sending them away in Feb, March and April, to
grace gorgeous New Zealand gardens.
Happy planting, Jane
